About Matt
Matt Ganzak shipped his first production software in 2006. By 2009 he had led a product to a top-100 ranking among the most-visited websites on the internet, with sixty-five million daily users at peak. He founded ScaleUpMedia in 2016 and has spent the years since building it into a twenty-five-venture studio that ships software products end-to-end for operators, founders, and existing companies.
He's the author of Million Dollar Plan: Leveraging Technology to Scale (Amazon top-100 business book, April 2016). He writes weekly to a newsletter of two hundred fifty thousand operators learning to build with AI. He's been quoted in Huffington Post and Forbes, featured in Entrepreneur and Haute Living, and appeared on Sirius XM and major business podcasts.
Topics Matt covers
Story angles Matt is currently speaking and writing about:
1. The new economics of building software.
What used to cost a million dollars and take a year now costs a fraction and ships in ninety days. Matt explains the structural shift, what changed, and which operators are already compounding on the new math.
2. Running twenty-five ventures with a fifteen-person team.
The operational playbook for managing a venture studio at scale. How agentic systems handle the work, how operators handle the decisions, and what changes when AI infrastructure becomes the team multiplier.
3. The operator-led venture studio model.
Why the next decade of startup-building belongs to operator-run studios instead of venture-funded silos. What this means for founders who don't want to raise capital but still want to build at scale.
4. Twenty years of shipping through platform shifts.
From early 2000s e-commerce to the dot-com aftermath, mobile, social, and now AI. Matt has shipped product through five distinct platform shifts. The patterns that repeat, and the ones that don't.
5. Building AI-native products that customers actually want.
How to design software where the AI is invisible to the user, the value is obvious, and the business model works. Lessons from twenty-five ventures currently in market.
6. Why operators are the new founders.
The shift from "founder-as-visionary" to "founder-as-operator" and what it means for hiring, fundraising, and how venture studios actually win.
Recent ventures available for discussion
Matt is happy to discuss any of the ventures ScaleUpMedia has built that are publicly named in the Portfolio. A few that have generated particular interest from press:
OR APOLLO. Surgical safety AI deployed in operating rooms. Hospital pilot data shows a fourteen percent reduction in malpractice liability.
LEDGR. Usage-based billing infrastructure for AI agencies. Built because the studio needed it and nobody was making one.
GRASP. K-2 learning app, curriculum-matched, built originally for Matt's five-year-old daughter and now expanding to schools.
NARXBOX. Biometric smart medication box. Two product lines: consumer (home medications) and medical-grade (hospital narcotic transport).
